Chefmate Breadmaker
Just to keep the competition even, a Chefmate Breadmaker is now available. This bread maker mixes, kneads, rises and bakes the bread automatically. It makes 1, 1.5 or 2 pound loaves out for homemade bread, has 10 different settings along with dough only and will also bake jam and cakes. There is a huge window for seeing what progress has been made, and it is a fairly large bread maker. If you are after a Bread Maker Manual you will most likely find one online.
Here are some reviews of this product:
• I am a person who loves to bake bread, but for many years I did it by hand. I resisted purchasing a bread machine for a long time, but finally when a terrific price deal came up I jumped on the band wagon. The day after I got the bread maker, I chose 3 recipes and put the bread maker to test. Despite reading a few negative comments online, all 3 loaves turned out perfectly. I guess it just shows that not everyone can bake bread! It was easy to clean, the bread was tasty and although I played around a little with the recipes it performed flawlessly. I watched the first two processes (the mixing and kneading) and then left it to do its thing! The only real issue I found with the bread maker was that the shape isn’t really what you would call ‘traditional’!
• This Chefmate Breadmaker performs flawlessly, but the metallic covering on the plastic paddle is coming off. Unfortunately for us, the covering goes into our bread which surely can’t be good for us. A new paddle seems to be a good idea, but we cannot seem to locate the manufacturer anywhere! I guess we could scrape the coating off and see how it goes!
• This bread machine is totally awesome. The bread it makes is soft, moist and smells fantastic. It was not hard at all, and the bread fell apart whilst trying to cut a piece. The bread made from these machines is so much better than that of the shops. Depending on where you get your ingredients from, and how much at a time you purchase you can even save a few dollars! However, even if it does cost a little bit more the idea of fresh bread is well and truly more attractive.
• I bought this machine a long time ago and have used it for quite some time. However, after repeated use the bearings went, and upon trying to pull the paddle out I discovered that it was not removable. That seems pretty silly to me; now I have to throw out the bread maker just because I can’t replace a few dollar bearings! EDIT: after further looking I discovered that the bread maker had simply not been very well cleaned, and after soaking the paddle in water it came out very easily!
The Chefmate Breadmaker is certainly another option for those looking to have some fresh bread. Whilst it may not have the brand name of a Panasonic Bread Maker, or a Breville, it certainly seems to bake some good loaves whilst not putting too much of a hole in the wallet!
